<p>Internet blog marketing is all the rage just as much as blogs are, when you talk about internet blog marketing, you mean you&#8217;re using the internet to market things through the medium of your blog.</p>
<p>This is the easiest and clearest explanation.</p>
<p>Marketing, no matter what it is you&#8217;re marketing simply isn&#8217;t as easy as it was on the internet as it was a few years ago&#8230;</p>
<p>Why, simple everyone is getting into marketing online because it&#8217;s so easy and with pay per click programs everyone is able to get guaranteed traffic. And that means that the competition today is fierce.</p>

<p>Internet blog marketing is easier for some than others and becomes easier the sooner you get started for the simple reason the internet changes every day and things are not all ways the same, the faster you learn the best marketing techniques and tools, the easier it will be for you once they change and start to become more complicated.</p>

<p>Just because we are in the midst of a recession doesn&#8217;t mean that you have to cut back on your marketing. You can&#8217;t afford to do that. As a matter of fact, in the midst of a recession is the time that marketing efforts must be increased, not cut back.</p>
<p>Yet traditionally, the problem is that a recession or economic downturn means you have less business, less revenues, and the very first thing that business owners usually cut when revenues fall is the marketing and advertising budget. Nowadays, however, you can get a tremendous advantage over your traditionally-minded competitors by increasing your recession-time advertising and marketing without breaking the financial back of your business.</p>
<p>You can do this through harnessing the power of the Internet to spearhead your marketing methods. There are so many things that you can do online to market yourself that are either inexpensive or free that even in prosperous times you should be using them to market your business today.</p>
<p>The three things you must have to sell your house fast is </p>
<p>1. EXPOSURE to millions of eyes<br />
<br />2. GREAT AD COPY &#8211; Attract people to your offering<br />
<br />3. Creative Finance &#8211; People buy payments!</p>
<p>It goes without saying that any business today must have a website. If you don&#8217;t have a presence on the Internet you are going to be left out in the cold and left behind by your competitors. However, many businesses have a website and little else online. They treat their website as a cursory online brochure. They have one simply because they know they are supposed to&#8211;but they really don&#8217;t take it as seriously as they should. So the first thing you can do to increase your marketing power during a recession is to dramatically improve your website.</p>
<p>In the first place, websites that are kept fresh get higher search engine rankings. Web crawlers want to see fresh content. So if you are constantly keeping your website updated, you will see it come up much closer to the front of search engine results. Most people only check the first one to three pages of results for various key words (which to them are simply the words they selected to try to do a search for something), so the higher up you get the more traffic you will get at your site. What should you do for your website to keep it competitive?</p>
<p>*Constantly write more articles or blog posts for it. Use SEO techniques when you do this. *Keep it updated with more graphics and photographs. *Make your website very dynamic. Use animation, videos, and audio. *Keep your website as easy to navigate as possible. *Enable people to buy from you through your website. Make this process both convenient and secure.</p>
<p>Make your website always fresh, and make it a work of art. This will cause more people to beat a path to your virtual door. But there are other things you can do to drive that traffic to your website.</p>
<p>You can use Twitter, for one thing. Twitter, for those who may not be familiar with it, is a &#8220;mini blog site&#8221;. For every &#8220;tweet&#8221; that you make at Twitter, you have a maximum of 150 characters to make a statement. The idea is to keep people constantly updated about your business or life or just your personal thoughts. But to use Twitter as a business and marketing tool there are some guidelines you should follow.</p>
<p>*Never make more than five tweets a day. If you exceed that, you run the risk of coming off as a spammer and you give the impression that you must not really be that busy at your business. </p>
<p>*Never do shameless marketing or selling with any tweet. Update people about your business activity or even your personal life, but never try to sell to people on Twitter. You want to use Twitter to build relationships and get people to come to you. </p>
<p>*Never say anything off color or otherwise impolite or inappropriate when you tweet. You never know who you may offend or what negative impression you may unintentionally give.</p>
<p>Another technique to use is Blog marketing. You can write and publish your articles and thoughts for free. Even if you feel that your writing skills or ideas aren&#8217;t the best, it&#8217;s possible for you to hire a ghost writer at very affordable rates to write articles in your name. Articles work as fantastic marketing tools because they are unobtrusive. People read them who are interested in your area, your insights, activities, and businesses in your area.</p>
<p>When they read your blog, you come off as a knowledgeable professional who is generous enough to share some free information. People then contact you, rather than you having to cold-call or prospect for them. You don&#8217;t have to deal with people who aren&#8217;t really interested in your house deals, which saves you time and money. You don&#8217;t have to deal with people who will be offended by your business offers because, again, only interested people will be reading your content to begin with. Articles are online 24-seven, so they are working for you even while you sleep.</p>
<p>When you write your articles for your blog, you can make use of social networking tools including Facebook, Digg, and Stumble Upon among others to let your content reach as wide an audience as possible.</p>
<p>Social networking sites online work on the same principle as real-world networking at places like the local YMCA, boating club, rotary club, and wherever else you make acquaintances and introduce them to what you could do for them. You should not get frustrate with seeing only just a few sign ups or just a few sales at first.  This should actually motivate and push you to work harder and make even more money through your promotional methods.</p>
<p>The only way to make real money with any online business is thorough the traffic you bring to your site. If you are not ale to get traffic to your site, it is going to be real hard for you to make any sales.  In order to get this flow of traffic to your website, you must be patient and pick up this momentum.</p>
<p>Consistently using traffic generating methods like article marketing, forum postings, and SEO tactics can and most likely will lead to a steady flow of traffic.  Even if you do not see the results right away, be sure to remain calm and continue to build back links.</p>
<p>This is a mistake many people make.  They will give up just before their business starts to grow and take off.  You have to understand that the internet is wired to weed out the websites that aren&#8217;t providing any value to the people.  Once you build enough back links and prove to the search engines that your website is legit and an authority, then they will reward you with plenty of traffic.</p>
<p>This is an essential part of making money online and it cannot be underestimated.  It is simple enough to make a living through working at home on the internet, but like any job you will have to work hard to make it happen.  The best part is that it is not tough manual labor, rather easy busy work instead.  Be prepared to write a lot or at least have enough money to outsource the writing for you. Do not get into the savings component of the HSA in the beginning because you will confuse the heck out of them. Sell the premium savings FIRST! Here&#8217;s an example: &#8220;Look here Mary, if you choose the PPO plan with the $25 co-pay, the premium for you and Jethro is about $75 dollars per month more than the modified PPO right?</p>
<p>OK with this modified PPO HSA plan I am recommending instead of the $25 co-pay, you will pay the negotiated insurance rate for yours and your husband&#8217;s routine office visits, which on average is $50-$60 dollars instead of $25. But let&#8217;s work this out financially. $75 more per month is $900 more per year in premium right? To be able to save $25 to $35 dollars each time to go to the Doctor correct? Let&#8217;s say you save the maximum of $35 each time you visit the doctor. You and your husband would have to go to the doctor $900 divided by $35 or 25 times to make up that $900 difference in premium.</p>
<p>Do you think you and Jethro will need to go to the Doctor 25 times this coming year? Now both the insurance company and I would make more money if you choose the other plan, but I wouldn&#8217;t be taking care of your money which is part of my job as your agent. However, it&#8217;s completely up to you, which plan looks better to you NOW&#8221;? This next step is vital. If you get a sense that your prospect understands money then and only then do you explain the savings and tax deductible component of the HSA.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s an example: &#8220;Mary, here&#8217;s another advantage of this plan. You can have Uncle Sam help pay for as much as 30%- 45% of your medical expenses each year and even better get up to a $6000 tax deduction each year. How? Well Mary this is plan qualifies you to have what&#8217;s called a Health Savings Account. Do you have an IRA or 401K? Well this is like one of those, but much better. You can contribute from $1 up to $6000 each year (as a family) into a separate account and then deduct that contribution from your tax return just like you do your IRA.</p>
<p>However, unlike your IRA you can take that money out at ANYTIME, without a penalty or tax, to use for medical expenses! Yes that means the next day! If you need to use it for co-pays, or deductibles, the kid&#8217;s orthodontics, ANYTHING that is a medically related expense. And your accountant stills gets to deduct the full contribution. If you don&#8217;t need the money it accumulates tax free until you need it. Now Mary contributing to this HSA is NOT compulsory, you don&#8217;t have to set it up nor do you have to contribute to it each year. However if you and your husband need more tax deductions this is the ONLY financial tool that enables you to take the full tax deduction AND take the money back out immediately without a tax or penalty.</p>
<p>This feature is NOT the main reason you would choose this plan but it makes it so much more attractive financially than any other plan you might choose. But we&#8217;ll let your tax professional help you decide if this makes financial sense for you. If you need me to get information to him AT TAX TIME that&#8217;s no problem we have a lot of time to work that out&#8221;.  If you get the sense that would confuse them make it a point after the application is approved to send them the best explanation of an HSA I can find and it is from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. <p>Regardless of how smart you might be or how much business or sales experience you may have had, if you are new to the insurance business I would encourage you to find someone to mentor you. Like any new industry you enter, the insurance business has it own language and acronyms. Each category of the insurance business, whether it&#8217;s property &#038; casualty, or life &#038; health, has its own idiosyncrasies. Besides the obvious product differences, each company has their own forms and processes. There is so much someone new has to learn and the learning curve is so long, a mentor is crucial to helping you to focus on what&#8217;s most necessary.</p>
<p>GO IT ALONE OR JOIN AN AGENCY</p>
<p>This is strictly a personal choice. As I said in the introduction, I initially joined an agency. However I realized very quickly that wasn&#8217;t my style. I found it too confining and restrictive for the way I work best. However, that first organization is where I met the person who taught me the basics of the health insurance business. During those first few months I learned enough to be dangerous not only to my self but to my clients. In an agency environment you should expect to get the initial training that will be the foundation for everything else you learn in the future. Your fixed costs will be covered i.e. phones, copying, office supplies, etc. It&#8217;s my opinion that you should stay away from captive agreements. Those are agencies or companies that mandate that you only offer their products to your clients. Those arrangements restrict your market too dramatically and whatever they are offering (leads, stock options, etc) the trade off is NEVER worth it. Additionally, you won&#8217;t get the well rounded experience needed to build up your own online agency.</p>
<p>CHOOSING A MENTOR</p>
<p>If I were starting today new in the insurance industry, and knowing what I&#8217;ve learned. I would choose to be independent, work from my home office, represent multiple carriers for both health and life products, leverage the internet for both marketing and sales and find a mentor to teach me how to do it right! A mentor in this business, will not only save you a fortune in both time and money, but will make you a fortune as a result of what they can teach you that you might NEVER learn on your own. Your mentor should be someone that overrides (makes commission) from your sales. You might initially make a lower commission percentage but the time shaved off the learning curve and increased sales will make up for it. In my college math class we learned that 80% of $10,000 is more than 100% of $2000 and that is very close to the ratio difference a good mentor can make. You will most likely end up with more than one mentor during your career. I have had 3 mentors (so far) during my career. One mentor taught me the basics of the health insurance business, including HSA&#8217;s and how to sell them. My second mentor taught me the strategy of layering multiple products and how to free up health insurance money to fund life insurance. And my third mentor taught me how to recruit and train agents. It can be a lonely business working on your own from home based office so you&#8217;ll need to create relationships that will enhance both individual&#8217;s efforts. A mentor can show you how to do just that. Find someone that you think has a business and strategy you would like to emulate. Make a working arrangement where they can override your production if they will teach you how to duplicate what they are doing. In short, you will make more money learning from a mentor.</p>
